Denamarin_Group

Protexin Denamarin for Cats & Dogs contains S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and silymarin, which work synergistically to provide comprehensive, high-level nutritional support for the liver.

  • S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe): This is the stable form of the major bioactive isomer S,S-SAMe synthesized intracellularly. It is essential for the normal function and repair of hepatocytes and helps increase glutathione levels in the liver, thereby protecting hepatocytes from toxins.
  • Silybin: This is the active ingredient extracted from milk thistle extract. Silybin in Denamarin, in combination with phosphatidylcholine, has higher bioavailability compared to silybin alone. It can protect the liver from oxidative stress, promote cell regeneration, and stimulate bile flow.

Denamarin is available in three pack sizes: 

Denamarin for Cat & small dog up to 5kg, Medium dog 5-15kg and Large dog over 15kg.

 

Dosage & Administration:

Cat & small dog up to 5kg

  • 1 tablet daily

Medium dog 5-15kg

  • 1 tablet daily

Large dog over 15kg

  • 15-30kg - 1 tablet daily
  • 30-55kg - 2 tablets daily
  • >55kg - 3 tablets daily

 

Where possible we recommend an overnight fast to ensure the stomach is empty before administering the tablet, thereby allowing the best absorption of the active ingredients.  However, when an overnight fast is not possible please allow a minimum of 2 hours (ideally longer) after feeding before administering the tablets.

 

Once the tablet has been administered, allow at least 1 hour before feeding your pet.

 

Precautions: The tablets are enteric-coated to protect SAMe from degradation by stomach acid. Therefore, do not split, crush, or chew the tablets. The tablets are blister-packed to prevent SAMe from oxidative degradation.
